Hermetic Sealing with Ceramic to Metal Seals 

PacAero’s patented Kryoflex® polycrystalline ceramic seals provide superior bonding properties, replacing conventional compression glass and metallized alumina ceramics. This advanced material relieves stress within itself and eliminates the common causes of hermetic failure, ensuring reliable performance in even the most demanding environments. Kryoflex seals offer exceptional electrical performance and withstand mechanical and thermal stresses far beyond what traditional glass-to-metal seals can endure. These seals are ideal for aerospace, industrial, and medical applications, and they can directly seal into materials such as stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum.

Glass-to-Metal Seals

PacAero also offers glass-to-metal sealing capabilities, which are ideal for applications that require a more cost-effective solution or specific sealing conditions. Glass-to-metal seals are commonly used in Hi-Rel (High Reliability) applications that require matched sealing or compression sealing. PacAero can also provide sealing using specialized oxidation techniques and higher processing temperatures, ensuring a reliable seal for applications in aerospace, medical, and industrial industries. This solution is particularly useful when lower cost is a priority, but high performance is still required.

Laser Hermetic Sealing for Microwave and RF Packages

For the most demanding aerospace and industrial applications, we offer laser hermetic sealing services for microwave and RF packages. Our ISO Class 7 cleanroom is equipped with advanced laser welding and sealing systems, ensuring that your components remain in a controlled, inert environment throughout the sealing process. Laser hermetic sealing offers precision and ensures that your packages are fully protected from harsh environmental conditions. We specialize in sealing a variety of materials, including aluminum, Kovar, stainless steel, titanium, and Inconel, making us an ideal partner for critical aerospace and medical device components.

Materials Welded

Our lasers can weld a wide range of materials, including aluminum, Kovar, stainless steel, titanium, and Inconel, among others. If you’re unsure whether a specific material can be welded, we’ll work with you to test and demonstrate its weldability, ensuring that we can meet your exact requirements for each project.

Glovebox Systems

Our Hermetics lab is equipped with state-of-the-art glovebox systems designed and assembled by PacAero. These systems are set up for hermetic sealing in controlled atmospheres, such as Nitrogen/Helium or Argon/Helium, allowing us to precisely control the environment during the sealing process. With multiple vacuum bake ovens, we can process several parts simultaneously, ensuring quick turnaround times to meet your most demanding schedules.

Testing Capabilities

All microwave and RF packages sealed in our Hermetics lab undergo rigorous testing to ensure reliability. Prior to welding, components are visually inspected and undergo fine leak testing, and sometimes gross leak testing, based on customer specifications. This comprehensive testing is performed within our cleanroom environment to prevent contamination, ensuring that your parts meet the highest quality standards before leaving our facility.
