Hermetic Fiber Optic Feedthu

ELIO® Fiber Optic Bulkhead Feedthru

Applications that require a high level of hermetic performance were traditionally unable to leverage the advantages fiber optics can bring to a design, due to limitations imposed by the glass sealing process. To address this issue, SOURIAU PA&E has developed a new hermetic 38999 mateable feedthru for SOURIAU's ELIO fiber optic connectors.

This hermetic 38999 mateable feedthu uses ceramic-to-metal sealing technology to provide a reliable hermetic seal for fiber optic applications. This material seals at a much lower temperature than glass so optical fibers won't be damaged by high heat during processing. This feedthru is designed for use in aerospace, defense or any other application where harsh environmental conditions dictatea reliable hermetic seal. Its lightweight aluminum shell is up to 60% lighter than stainless steel alternatives. This feedthru is designed to mate with aluminum or composite ELIO contacts and is availble in either laser weld or jam nut styles. It is available in either one- or four-channel configurations and is compatible with aluminum, stainless steel and titanium
